Kelcey! I have been meaning to write you for at least two weeks now, to let you know your beautiful zine made it to Belgium and to thank you for this snowflake! I truly gasped when I opened it, and can't get enough of its rich colors and layers of texture.
Reading this felt like reliving the joy of receiving your art all over again, thank you!!! 🥰❄️✨
These days I don’t read my usual two dozen poets, it’s been wearing me down too much. I also don’t post but once every several weeks but I can’t miss yours.
This is fantastic, Kelcey! I don't get around to your work anywhere near enough, for which I offer my apologies - though my own stuff around my day job and all the other sundry things have the effect they have when I try to get around to as many folks as I can - but this is a great shout-out, and I love that you showed everyone the behind-the-scenes process. Great work here - and huge thank-you!
Love love seeing the process! And as a process nerd, I can’t help but wonder how you end up making it into a long image for the newsletter. Do you upload the pictures and doodle in photoshop?
Well, technically I used a box cutter to slice up the snowflakes! Scissors were only used for the one cut on the zine. :) You can make something on precut 4"x6" watercolor cards if you don't want to cut!
You’re so talented, Kelcey. I always look forward to your posts.
❤️ I love how you break down your process!
YOU ARE A TRUE GIFT!
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you, Kelcey!
THANK YOU! 😁
Lovely!
So lovely Kelcey!

Dear Kelcey,
This is awesome.
I love this sentence a lot in particular:
"I also wanted to make something 'original' - something both the same & different for each person."
That resonates hard!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful work/art!
Love

I love your Substack(s). And, yes, you are amazingly awesome!
You’re so awesome Kelcey ! Love this. So simple. So cool. Of course I might have to copy you! 😄
I loved your zine! The snowflake you made is hanging on my studio wall. 🩵
I'm honored! ❤️🥰
I love this!! I run a print newsletter too, and I’m so glad to see other writers and artists doing so too! :)
Excellent! Thanks, Rachel!
I loved my snowflake! Mahalo! ❤️ ❄️ ❤️
Yay! Mahalo, Colleen!
So wonderfully, endlessly inventive. Thanks
Thank you, Wes! I'm so glad you're here!

Thanks so much, Lee! I have the same experience of too much great stuff, too little time. I'm so glad to have you here when you can!

Thanks, Kimber! I use Procreate on my iPad. You can make a "canvas" any size you want, and I kept making mine longer as I added more photos and text.
Yes, this makes sense! Thank you so much 💛
I love it all - thank you for sharing the process. ZINES - it's been awhile, but this has made me want to make one again :)
I have my students make a zine on the first day of class, so I figured I should do one too! :)
I love the show and tell of your process. It's inspiring for me, who is somehow daunted when a scissors is mentioned!
